We will collect certain information from you in the course of providing our services to you. We take your privacy seriously. With your consent we may also collect your data from the relevant institutions with whom you hold contracts or policies, or from your employer or other advisers. We may also obtain data from credit reference agencies.

  • To offer you products and services from the deVere Group

 

We may use internal (within companies the deVere Group) and external third parties to process personal information on our behalf. Unless otherwise stated and without your express consent, this will only be within the EEA (European Economic Area). Some of this information may be classed as 'sensitive', i.e. information about physical or mental health, lifestyle choice, racial origin, political beliefs etc. and we will obtain your consent before processing any sensitive personal data.

 

If a product or service is administered in a country outside of the EEA, the firm will put a contract in place to ensure your information is adequately protected.

 

If we give information about another person, then we will confirm that he / she has given their consent for us to act on their behalf.

 

By accepting deVere UK’s client service agreement you consent to the obtaining and processing of information, including sensitive information as described above for your financial requirements. You consent to also having your information held within our fact find and to share it with other companies for the express purpose of the arranging and administration of financial products  You have the right to withdraw this consent at any time.

 

You have a right of access to your information. We will provide your information within one month of your request without charge.

 

You have the right of data portability. When your personal data is processed by automated means you have the right to ask us to move your personal data to another organisation for their use.

 

You have the right of rectification meaning we have an obligation to ensure your personal information is accurate and up to date. If you believe your data is inaccurate please notify us and we will rectify this for you.

 

You have the right to restrict processing. Should you contest the accuracy of the data held about you, in some circumstances we can restrict data processing.

 

You have the right to object to your data being used in certain circumstances- for example such as direct marketing.

 

You have rights relating to automated decision making, which means you have the right to not be subject to decision making based solely on automated processing.

 

You have the right of erasure which is to request the deletion of your data from our system, although we will only be able to comply where it does not conflict with our regulatory requirements.

 

To make sure we follow your instructions correctly and to improve our service to you through the training of our staff, we may monitor or record communications.

 

The lawful basis under which we can process your data is ‘For the performance of a contract’ or ‘Legitimate Interests’ as we need the data to provide advice under our Service Agreement. This will include passing your data onto providers we transact with on your behalf. They will have their own obligations to deal with your personal information.

 

We will normally retain data for the entire period while you are a client following the cessation of a product we have arranged for you or death plus a maximum of 6 years beyond that. Where we have records regarding the suitability of pension arrangements, we will keep them indefinitely.

We are aware that deVere United Kingdom and associated Group companies have been cloned and UK residents are being contacted by a fraudulent company/companies, using our company details, images and London office address. If you have any communication from anyone using the email addresses that DO NOT end in @devere-uk.co.uk or @devere-group.com, please contact us as soon as possible on [email protected] or directly by telephone on +44 (0) 333 344 9530.

In addition to this, we have also been made aware of unsolicited calls being made by unscrupulous organisations which claim to have been recommended to contact individuals following details being passed from deVere United Kingdom. What follows is usually an invitation to invest in a European IPO – often a recognised name, frequently an airline. If you are contacted in this way, please DO NOT allow the call to continue, take the person’s details and refer this back to us via the contact details we provide above – It is a boiler room scam, we will report this to our regulator. deVere United Kingdom does not share client data with third party companies, so being contacted in this way will not be as a result of an introduction from us.
